Boston, Aug. 18, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Payscale, the leading provider of compensation intelligence solutions, today released findings from an ROI study showing that enterprise customers see an estimated annual value of more than $1 million on average.
The findings come as compensation teams are juggling pay transparency compliance and tightening labor budgets, while advising leadership on workforce decisions that carry real business consequences. Despite these growing responsibilities, many organizations continue to rely on unreliable data sources, disconnected tools, and manual spreadsheet-based processes that slow decisions and introduce risk.
Organizations in the study consolidated compensation into a single platform with up-to-date market data and AI-powered workflows. The result: less time spent on manual work and faster, more confident decisions on hiring, retention, and workforce planning.
“If you’re spending money on surveys/market data, but not using a compensation tool, you’re not getting the full utility and benefit from that data,” the City and County of Denver’s Compensation Division said. “You’re also bringing in serious risk when requiring this work to be done manually.”
Key findings from the study:
- $1M+ in estimated annual ROI, driven primarily by reduced compensation-related turnover and recovered labor value from time savings.
- 30.5 hours saved per week across compensation teams, with the largest gains in job pricing, data management, and pay structure work.
- Offer acceptance rose from 83% to 91% after adopting Payscale.
- 13 additional employees retained annually on average, as teams gained the ability to proactively identify flight risks due to pay before they become departures.
The efficiency gains are equally significant. Before adopting Payscale, 92% of respondents identified manual processes as a primary challenge. After switching, the share of customers describing their compensation strategy as “advanced” or “optimized” tripled, from 19% to 63%.
“If we want to remain competitive, we need to understand the market data and be able to pull the necessary information quickly and efficiently,” said Kim McGuinness, Director of Compensation at Greystar. “Payscale doesn’t only save time for the Comp/HR team, but the business as a whole, and helps us make data-driven decisions faster.”
The study also found that confidence in presenting compensation recommendations to leadership improved dramatically, with respondents reporting confidence levels rising from 38% to 94% after adopting Payscale.
