Homestream, a mobile app that automatically syncs a team’s local radio broadcast to the live national or regional televised game, launches this fall at Duke, Auburn and Georgia Tech for college football, and debuts in November for all three men’s college basketball programs for every televised game across the 2026-27 seasons. Homestream is a premium subscription service where fans are able to order the full season of football or basketball for $79.99, roughly $3-6 per game (depending on sport), combine their favorite team’s full basketball and football season packages for $129.99 or pay a la carte for any marquee game for $9.99. The Homestream app is currently available in the Apple and Google Play App Stores.
Getting started takes seconds. Much like depositing a check with a phone, a fan points their phone at the TV. Homestream recognizes exactly where they are in the game and seamlessly syncs the audio broadcast to the picture. Fans send the call to a Bluetooth speaker and hear their hometown announcers from the Blue Devil Sports Network, Auburn Sports Network or the Georgia Tech Sports Network in sync with every snap and possession.
“For many fans, nothing beats hearing their hometown announcers – the voices who go to practice, travel to every game, and ride every high and low right alongside them,” said Steve Hasty, CEO of Homestream. “Our live synchronization technology removes the guesswork, aligning the radio call to the TV picture automatically. Duke, Auburn and Georgia Tech are just the beginning – our goal is to give every fanbase in college sports the same experience: your team, your announcers, perfectly synced.”
Homestream’s Duke, Auburn and Georgia Tech experiences arrive through agreements with each school’s respective multimedia rights partner: Learfield, multimedia rightsholder for Duke Athletics and the Blue Devil Sports Network among more than 140 other colleges and universities, Playfly Sports, multimedia rightsholder for Auburn Athletics and the Auburn Sports Network, and Legends, multimedia rightsholder for Georgia Tech Athletics and the Georgia Tech Sports Network. With Learfield, Playfly and Legends all on board at launch Homestream debuts with all agreements spanning all three major media rightsholders in college athletics.
“Homestream is a fantastic companion app for dedicated fans that want to enhance their game broadcast experience,” said Tom Boman, Vice President, Broadcast Operations, Learfield. “The feedback we have received from users has been terrific regarding its ease of use and reliability.”
Homestream is built for superfans – the season-ticket holders, message-board regulars and team blog devotees. The fans with the license-plate tag and the flag flying, who plan their week around gameday and want the announcers who travel to every game calling the action. Once a fan selects their team, the entire experience is skinned in that school’s colors and marks.
Homestream tested the experience with hundreds of fans during this past college basketball season, drawing listeners from coast to coast. The response was immediate, with fans telling Homestream it had completely changed the way they watch their team. To learn more or sign up, fans can visit homestream.app.
