Qualderm and Parakeet Health Partner to Expand Patient Access Across National Dermatology Network
PR Newswire
SAN FRANCISCO and NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 8, 2026
Collaboration brings enterprise-scale AI to patient access across a national dermatology network to connect patients with timely care.
SAN FRANCISCO and NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Parakeet Health, a healthcare AI company that is transforming patient engagement at enterprise scale, and Qualderm, a management services organization for a national physician-led skin care network, today announced a collaboration to expand patient access, strengthen care continuity and reconnect patients following cancellations, missed visits, and overdue follow-ups.
Qualderm supports nearly 160 practices across 17 states, spanning medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, skin cancer care, and plastic surgery. Qualderm understands small gaps in patient access can cause missed care, delays in treatment, and worsening of untreated conditions. Parakeet helps Qualderm identify those care opportunities by evaluating provider schedules to determine where appointments are available for patients requiring care.
The collaboration comes as demand for dermatology care continues to grow, clinical and administrative staffing remains constrained. A recent study found that patients in 15 major metropolitan areas wait an average of 36.5 days for a dermatology appointment, up 6% since 2022. “For national networks such as Qualderm, reconnecting patients who cancel or miss visits and quickly filling newly available appointments helps more patients receive timely care and stay connected to their care plans” said Blake Area, Chief Marketing and Digital Officer at Qualderm.
“Specialty care is where enterprise AI must prove that it can manage real operational complexity,” said Jung Park, CEO and Co-founder of Parakeet Health. “Every practice has different services, providers, scheduling rules and patient needs. Our work with Qualderm shows how AI can function within that complexity by interpreting clinical intent, identifying available capacity and completing the action inside the existing workflow. The result is directly measurable in patient access, care continuity and effective use of existing clinical capacity.”
