ATLANTA, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Coffman Stair Parts, a leader in residential stair parts distribution and custom manufacturing, announced the appointment of John Sowatsky as President, effective Sept. 1. The appointment completes a leadership team that the Company has built over the past year, following the additions of Tim Short as Director of Finance and Accounting in December 2025 and Erik Wilke as Vice President of Sales in February 2026.
John Sowatsky becomes President after serving as Chief Operating Officer and will lead the Company’s continued growth with a strong emphasis on the expansion of its custom wood manufacturing operation. He brings a supply chain background built in the automotive industry and carried into construction products distribution. Prior to joining Coffman, he served as Vice President of Supply Chain at Grabber Construction Products, where he led sourcing, inventory, and distribution. Sowatsky holds a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University.
Erik Wilke joined as Vice President of Sales, where he leads the national sales organization and dealer and builder channel strategy. He brings extensive experience in sales leadership, business development, and distribution within the building materials industry. Before Coffman, he served as Director of Sales at Wurth Wood Group where he provided strategic leadership across sales and business operations, with a focus on customer growth, market development, and key customer relationships. Prior to Wurth, he held progressive sales and leadership roles at Fastenal. Wilke holds an MBA from North Greenville University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Lander University.
Tim Short joined as Director of Finance and Accounting, overseeing financial reporting, planning, and cost management across the Company’s manufacturing and distribution operations. He previously served as Corporate Controller at Swan Products, where he was responsible for treasury management, full cycle accounting, financial reporting, and costing. Prior to Swan Products, he held roles of increasing size and scope as a finance leader within Sherwin-Williams’ manufacturing and distribution division. Short holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from Ohio State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ohio Northern University.
