RAMONA – Firefighters have largely contained the Creelman Fire, a wildfire that scorched approximately 350 acres in Ramona. Cal Fire crews are continuing mop-up operations after bringing the blaze under control.
The fire, which prompted temporary evacuations, has seen those orders lifted as containment efforts progressed. The cause of the Creelman Fire was not immediately available.
A significant factor in the successful containment was the newly upgraded Ramona Air Attack Base. This facility allowed for rapid reloads of air tankers, a critical component in combating the spread of the wildfire.
